Pure Frankincense Essential Oil
(Boswellia Thurifera)


Frankincense essential  oil is steam distilled from the resin tears extracted from the tree. Gum resin from trees in Oman, India, Somalia and Yemen and other areas in North Africa yield much of the worlds Frankincense. 

Its colour is pale yellow and is classed as a Top Note.

Its scent is Fresh, Terpene and Balsamic.

Probably the most valuable from the historic natural oils, frankincense is extremely desired by modern oil users because of its numerous uses, such as immune support, relaxation, and mood enhancement.

Frankincense has relaxing effects on the human body including uplifting mood and heightening awareness. 

Oil Properties:

Anti-infectious, antiseptic, anti-catarrhal, anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, sedative, expectorant, antitumor, diuretic, cellular protection, astingent and analgesic.

Application:

Topically – Can be applied directly to the skin for topical use
Internally -  Can be taken internally by gel caps or with honey or drink
Aromatherapy – Can be diffused to improve concentration, minimize distractions, and focus energy.  Frankincense essential oil can also help with hyperactivity,  impatience, restlessness, and irritability.

Recipe Ideas

Frankincense for Cold and Flu Congestion

8 drops Frankincense
3 drops Eucalyptus 
Add the oils to a blank inhaler, and use as needed.

Frankincense Massage Oil

5 drops Frankincense
2 drops Peppermint Oil
2 drops Lavender Oil
Jojoba Oil

Place the oils in an amber bottle and gently shake to mix oils together.  Use as required.
