Tea Tree Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Maleluca Alternifolia

The people of eastern Australia use “tea trees” as a traditional medicine by inhaling the oils from the crushed leaves to treat coughs and colds. They also sprinkle leaves on wounds, after which a poultice is applied. In addition, tea tree leaves are soaked to make an infusion to treat sore throats or skin ailments.

Reported Therapeutic Benefits:

1. Antibacterial and antiseptic - Traditionally used for centuries for its medicinal properties by ancient Aboriginal people.  Wide spectrum anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-viral properties - 10 times stronger than carbolic acid but very gentle.

2. Can be added to an antiseptic wash with Lemon and Manuka.

3. Use in household cleaning when washing floors and disinfecting surfaces.

4. Add to the wash when cleaning washable nappies or sports wear.

5.Can help with warts, corns and verrucas

6. Can reduce the build up of uric acid which causes painful symptoms in those suffering from gout, arthritis and rheumatism

7. For the Hair use to deter and eradicate nits, lice and fleas on people and pets.

8. Combats dandruff.

9. For the Body and Face apply neat to individual spots and acne. Use diluted as a toner for acne prone skin.

10. Apply neat to nails to fight fungal infection.  Use diluted to 4% to combat fungal skin infections such as athletes foot.
